Private sector employers wishing to hire foreign nationals must arrange employment visas in advance. The following documents are generally required for a work visa in Bangladesh, though additional documentation may be necessary based on the specifics of the application:
Employment Visa in Bangladesh:
- Prescribed application form from the relevant government authority
- Two passport-sized photographs of the applicant (45mm x 35mm)
- Photocopy of the applicant's passport
- Approval letter or letter of recommendation from relevant authorities such as BIDA or BEPZA
- Copy of the employment letter or extension of the employment contract, detailing all terms and conditions.
Investment Visa in Bangladesh:
- Prescribed application form from the relevant government authority
- Two passport-sized photographs of the applicant (45mm x 35mm)
- Photocopy of the applicant's passport
- Letter of approval from the respective ministry, such as BIDA or BEPZA
- Up-to-date income tax clearance certificate
- Permission from Bangladesh Bank (for liaison/branch/representative offices)
- Declaration of existing employees, including a breakdown of national and foreign personnel, salary, designation, nationality, and date of appointment
- Encashment certificate for the last two years
All documents from the company or firm must be attested by the person filling the role of Chief Executive, such as Managing Director, Partner, or Proprietor.
NGO Visa in Bangladesh:
- Prescribed application form from the relevant government authority
- Two passport-sized photographs of the applicant (45mm x 35mm)
- Photocopy of the applicant's passport
- Letter from the concerned NGO, duly attested by the NGO Affairs Bureau
- Letter of appointment, including the date of joining and full terms and conditions of employment.
